Day 2! First day of class!

Monday, July 9th!

Today, we met at the hotel lobby at 10:30am and took taxi's to Taipei Medical University. The entire trip only cost us 135 NT, which is a little over 4 US dollars! So cheap! This is what I love most about Taiwan: everything is just so convenient and cheap!!!! When we got to the university, we were taken on a tour around the campus. The campus is quite beautiful and very very clean!

After our tour, we had a nice welcome party, hosted by TMU! The food was really good (especially the corn chowder and the appetizers) and I finally got to eat some Taiwanese fruit! At the welcome party, we got to meet the faculty in charge of taking care of us in Taiwan, particularly Dr. Jane Chao. We also met up with other students who are part of the Taiwan Tech Trek Program and with some graduate and medical students from various universities.

Later that night, I went to the Shida night market with some of my friends from USC and got to eat some more shaved ice!!!!
